Construction Company of the Year Honored
LEADING Egyptian construction company El Sad Construction has recently been chosen
from a group of the country's top construction companies to become this year's Middle
Eastern Construction Company of the Year.
Said Salem, head of the Nile River Public Works, and Hafaz Afar of the Egyptian Regional Development Authority presented the award to Anwar Pabbat, CEO and President of El Sad Construction. The 5-year-old company has successfully completed several public sector construction projects and has recently won the bid to repair the Aswan Dam in Egypt. El Sad was specifically recognized for its ability to complete the Molodar ministry building public works project well within budget and time constraints.
But that is only the latest of the young company's successes. Only last July, El Sad Construction teamed with local artists to draw up plans for an interactive art museum to replace the munitions building in downtown Cairo. Efforts such as these have dramatically improved the quality of the shopping and tourist experience in central Cairo. Because of its commitment to efficiency and attention to detail, El Sad has earned the reputation as being the company to consult for your commercial building needs.
Mr. Pabbat accepted the award on behalf of his employees. When asked to speak about his company he replied, “It is our people that make El Sad all that it is. Their tireless devotion to good public wrorks is the reason I stand before you today.”

Ms. Bascon,
I read your article concerning the recent award presented to El Sad Construction company. While I felt the article was well written and insightful, I wanted to make you aware of some items that were not mentioned in the article.
My name is Anais Bhopal and I lead a consortium of investors in the Al Sharam Building Art Center Project. I have worked with Mr. Pabbat on this project. And I have known him for several years, having worked together on construction in the past.
Though Mr. Pabbat gave a good deal of the credit to his employees, a far larger portion should be directed toward him. Mr. Pabbat, formerly the mayor of Desco, north of Cairo, has always been at the forefront of community cultural improvements. While mayor of Desco, Mr. Pabbat earned the Key to the City award on three separate occasions. He was relentless in his efforts to bring tourism to the town. He recognized early on that Egypt, being a treasure trove of ancient wonders and artifacts, was not taking full advantage of its opportunities as a tourist destination. His vision as a civic leader is unparalleled.
I hope that I have been helpful in providing additional information concerning Mr. Pabbat. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have additional questions or concerns.
Cordially,
Anais Bhopal
