Subject: Corporate Meet and Greet
Brockway Computing announces a meet and greet for managerial staff next week.
The event will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, October 14th in the boardroom.
All managers are asked to attend. Because this is the first social gathering since the merger of Dynamic Hard Drives and Brockway Computing in September, the event will provide an opportunity for our new managers to meet the original managers of Brockway Computing.
In addition, Diana Araguchi, Head of Corporate Development, will be giving a short presentation on Brockway Computing's goals for the new fiscal year. Brockway has been including management in its goal review process for 5 years now. The goals review is meant to be an opportunity for managers to become involved in the company's anticipated direction. Managers are urged to ask questions, and provide comments on their position regarding the company's goals.
As such, your input is critical to the organization as it determines its goals for the next year. In recent years, several management suggestions raised in these same meetings have led to company modifications resulting in huge market opportunities for Brockway Computing. We encourage manager input at this session.
See you at the meet and greet!

Regrettably, I will be unable to attend next Friday's meeting. I have a family trip (that I've planned months in advance), that requires me to travel out of state at that time. I have already purchased plane tickets with a 6 p.m. departure for my family and I on that same Friday. I am sorry for the absence, but it simply cannot be avoided.
Of course, I do think it necessary for Operations to have a management representative at the meet and greet and goal review. To that end, I would like to suggest that Jon Hoang, Assistant Operations Manager, be allowed to attend. Though only an assistant, Jon has been a real asset to my department since the merger. He has worked diligently to come up to speed on Brockway's computer operations workflow, and has been tireless in his efforts to merge the hard drive operations component brought over from his prior job experience into Brockway's main operation.
Please let me know within the next 2 days if Jon is to attend the meeting in my place. Because the meeting occurs after normal business hours, I will need to give him enough advance time to prepare.
Thanks for your understanding in this matter.
