“Help a child enjoy a summer they will never forget”
Fisher's Restaurant is collecting donations for its annual “Children's Summer by the Sea Camp.” Founded in 1984, the Fisher's chain of family restaurants will continue its tradition of helping poor and disadvantaged children with its non-profit camps. Brighton restaurant manager Kevin Lindon remembers the early beginnings of the camp.
“It was a great idea from the beginning. We wanted to do something special for the kids who didn't have much in life, but we weren't sure how to do it. Eventually, we thought of accepting donations from customers one month before the camps would open.” The idea grew from there. Now, as most Fisher's customers know, camp donations are accepted all through the year.
And the proceeds? “The money raised is used to rent six different campsites, pay for food and supplies, and also pay a small fee for travel expenses to the 350 volunteers that come to help every year.” We invite you to help. This coming Saturday, we will be donating our earnings from all 282 Fisher's restaurants to the “Children's Summer by the Sea Camp.” So drop by, have a meal, and know you are helping to contribute to a worthy cause.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Where can I make a donation to the camp?
A: We will accept all donations, big or small, at any of our restaurants nation-wide. You can also visit www.fisher.com/summer.
Q: How can my child attend the camp?
A: The children who attend the camp are chosen by professional social workers and employees of youth centers. If your child is currently attending one of these centers, they may be chosen for the camp.
Q: Will Fisher's make a donation to other children's charities?
A: Although we support similar charities in their work, the money we raise is just enough to meet our expenses. Unfortunately, we don't have the funds to contribute.
Q: How can I help? Are there any volunteer opportunities this summer?
A: There is always room for volunteers. Come by one of our restaurants with a resume and ask to speak to the manager. You will either be interviewed directly or be asked to come back for a later interview. If you are energetic, love children, and have related experience, your chances are very good. You must also be 18 years of age or older. First aid training will be required for some.
