Marketing Campaign Hikes BelleFood's Sales
Snack maker BelleFood announced an 18 percent rise in their retail sales by end June, compared to decreasing sales in the same period last year.
The company attributes the increase to their "Wellness" campaign that began in January. The promotion rewards customers for their health snack purchases by giving them coupons which earn them points. When a particular number of points are reached, the coupons can be exchanged for prizes such as fitness equipment and gym memberships.
For the promotion, a special "W" stamp was placed on BelleFood health snacks. Their oatmeal cookies, baked chips, and fruit juices have the "W" stamp. Although the campaign only currently promotes BelleFood snacks, by July, the company will place their "W" stamp on health-related products made by their other divisions.
BelleFood products sold at a discount are not part of the "W" promotion. Their bottled water, which launched at a marked-down price, will sell at regular cost starting August.
The "W" prizes include gym wear and sports gear, but the bestsellers are those which require at least 2,000 points. Sue Daniels, marketing manager, said, "We've had many customers buying boxes of our snacks to get enough coupons for weightlifting equipment, which are in great demand along with free gym memberships."
