My Stuff Internet Posting for April
29, 2005
Hello
all! I work for a men's shelter in the San Luis Obispo metro area. We are a
non-profit, non-denominational service, providing temporary respite for our
community's disenfranchised men. Our current effort involves providing the
men with professional-looking-clothing to aid them in their efforts to locate
temp-to- perm employment. To that end, I am asking for donations of men's
dress clothing (pants, suit coats, dress shirts, etc.). Clothing can be new
or used, but must be clean and free of blemishes, as it will likely be worn
in a professional environment.
Please
send the list of all donations to Carrie@SLOshelter.org.
We
appreciate your kindness.

Dear
Carrie,
I
saw your request posted on Mystuff.com. I am pleased to inform you that we
may be able to help with your clothing drive. Your program sounds great! I am
so happy to learn that there are good folks in our community that are willing
to help those in need not only with a meal, but with the means to take care
of themselves. I wish there were more programs like this available to all
sectors of the disenfranchised.
As
I was saying, we have a large supply of clothing that you are welcome to use
for your program - free of charge. We do not get a lot of requests for our
secondhand stores of men's professional clothing, so the inventory moves
slowly. As you might guess, we have more of this clothing than we can stock.
We have over 100 business suits, some 200-250 dress slacks, an equal number
of dress shirts of various shades and sizes, and too many ties to count!
If
you are interested, come by our store on Constitution and 33rd St. We may
even be able to help you with delivery!
Cordially,
David
