Dear
fellow Bloomfield workers.
I
want to express my gratitude and joy at being selected to join your esteemed corporation.
My special gratitude goes to CEO, Bernard Johnson who chose me for this
position.
As
many of you may already know, I am well known for my disposition toward
technological and market solutions to the logistical challenges that we face
today.
This
is a large part of the reason that I was chosen by Mr. Johnson.
What
this means for us in the logistics department is that we will be relying
increasingly on outside partners, either here in New Zealand, or globally, to
do many of the functions that we do now, and also I anticipate that many of
the processes that drive our logistical network can be made more efficient by
technological enhancements.
The
business media has labeled me “Chainsaw Hughes" for some of the
efficiencies I have created in my prior positions, which inevitably called
for a measure of business rightsizing.
However.
I am not the "job killer” that I have been described as. I have never
reduced staff unless it could show clear benefits to the corporation. I am a
“value creator" and I think that all of you will come to understand
that.
I
look forward to working with all of you.
Robert
J. Hughes
