M: Hi Shannon, I heard they′re looking for a new manager for the public relations department. Do you know who′s in line for the job?
W: They′ve already offered the position to a woman called Shelley Sanders. Apparently she′s from a big firm in New York.
M: Really? I expected them to promote someone from within the department. Sam Warner and Pete Michaels have both been loyal to the company for a long time. I thought one of them might get the job.
W: I think the personnel department wanted to bring in some new ideas from outside the company.
