1. I went to a market in Mexico City. I went with one of my friends. It was a huge market. It took up the square and there were a bunch of different stalls set up, and in each stall people were selling different kinds of things. So for example, in one stall someone was tortillas. In another stall someone was selling magnets, and I actually bought a magnet that said Mexico City on it. There were also selling people selling food and drinks. We didn′t eat anything or drink anything, but if I ever go back I′d like to try some of the food or drink.
I′m from Guatemala and they have lots of markets there. When I go to the market every year that I visit, I usually – the market is usually outside. They have lots of fruit stands, vegetable stands. There are little stands lined up, and one really cool thing is that they make drinks right there and then with the fruit that you like. They take the fruit, they mix it, and give it to you – and the cool thing is that they give it to you in a bag. They don′t use cups. They give it to you in a bag with a straw, and it′s cool.
I′ve been to Marrakech in Morocco, and we went to the souks there, which are the markets. And it′s like being in a maze ′cause you just wind through all these tunnels and different . They keep selling you jewelry and all sorts of silver, and they sell you purses and wallets. And they have so many different kinds of wallets that it′s just unbelievable to me. I a purse. I had to bargain for my purse because that′s what you do over there. I have it in my room and it smells like Morocco, so it′s wonderful to keep.
