The Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) is a biennial multi-sport event involving participants from the current 11 countries of Southeast Asia. The regional sports event under the regulation of the Southeast Asian Games Federation helps promote cooperation, solidarity, and mutual understanding among the countries in the Southeast Asian region. Thanks to Sea Games, there are competitions to design the Sea Games mascot, emblem, and hymn. People purchase SEA Games mascots as souvenirs of the events. The golden water buffalo -trau vang- was chosen as the mascot for the 22nd SEA Games in Viet Nam. To the Vietnamese people, the golden water buffalo symbolizes a golden harvest, prosperity, and happiness. The Games is
really a celebration to promote friendship among Southeast Asian countries.
