M2: I thought it over, and I don′t think I am going to apply for it because the position doesn′t pay as much as I had thought.
M1: That′s true, but there is a great chance for a quick promotion there. If I were you, I′d think it over again because in a couple of years you′ll be in much better situation than you would have been if you had stayed here.
M2: Hmm... I think you have a point there. Maybe I should try to see if I can get the position first. After all, I might not even be considered for it.
